Robben Island Tour
Ferries depart at 9am, 10am, 12pm, 1pm, 2 pm and 3pm, weather permitting, from the Clock Tower in the V&A Waterfront and the tour lasts approximately 31/2 hours. The ferry ride to the island takes between 30-45 minutes.
For 400 years Robben Island has been a 'home' for social outcasts, lepers and most recently for political prisoners. Of all the political prisoners that have been incarcerated on the island the most famous was Nelson Mandela, who served most of his 27-year jail sentence on the island.
From the island you will have an incredible view not just over the island but also over to Table Bay and Cape Town.
To avoid disappointment tours should be pre-booked.
