Day 1 - Umhlanga Rocks
Welcome to the multicultural city of Durban, with Africa’s biggest port. Upon arrival, you are met and transferred to your hotel in Umhlanga Rocks. Spend the afternoon at leisure or simply relax next to the pool. Overnight at your chosen hotel on bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2 - Umhlanga Rocks
Have breakfast at your hotel. The warm Indian Ocean is within easy reach and Umhlanga Rocks is known for its good beaches.
Today you can relax and enjoy yourself on the beach. Snack on home-baked cakes and biscuits while enjoying a good book or simply watching the waves roll in on shore.
Day 3 - Umhlanga Rocks
Breakfast at your hotel. Full-day Durban and uShaka Marine World tour. The tour includes: Marine Parade Drive, see the Rickshaw pullers and the Harbour; Vasco da Gama Clock; the Sugar Terminal; University of Natal; Botanical Gardens; bargaining at the colourful Indian Market.
After lunch at uShaka Marine World (not included) enjoy a fully guided 'edutainment' tour highlighting the unique Indian and Atlantic Ocean marine life as well as a Dolphin, Seal and Penguin show. Sea World and Dolphin World comprise a saltwater aquarium with indoor and outdoor displays and exhibits, the iconic cargo shipwreck and Africa’s largest dolphin stadium.
Day 4 - Safari
The journey continues today with a bush experience as you are transferred after breakfast to a game lodge of your choice in either Hluhluwe Game Reserve or Mkuzi Game Reserve.
Under the hot African sun, the cobolt blue Indian Ocean, mangrove swamps and limpid lagoons, give way to rolling green hills and indigenous forests, which shimmer in the distance before you reach your destination.
Afternoon is spent on safari in an open vehicle. Sundowner drinks are enjoyed while out game viewing. Dinner awaits you on your return to the lodge.
Day 5 - Safari
Morning game drive followed by late breakfast "brunch". Besides the big five - rhino, elephant, leopard, lion and buffalo, there is an astonishing variety of wildlife to ensure a fascinating experience for the visitor.
Return to the lodge for lunch and relax under the hot African sun. High tea is followed by an afternoon game drive in an open vehicle. Dinner is served under the African sky.
Day 6 - Checkout
Time for a last game drive first thing in the morning, followed by breakfast. You are then transferred to Durban's King Shaka International Airport for your flight to Johannesburg.
